Cádiz CF awared for implementing digital identity on blockchain, technology developed by Wise Security Global.

Cadiz CF is thus the only Spanish football club distinguished for its technological innovation with digital identity in blockchain, at the forefront of data security and privacy.

Cádiz Club de Fútbol has received an award at the Computing 2022 Awards, thanks to its blockchain identity system for members, season ticket holders and other users. Wise Security Global, a Spanish technology company specialising in identity and cybersecurity, has implemented a single identity and login that can be used by each user for different Club services.  

This award recognises Cádiz CF as a pioneer in Spanish professional football with this technology. The entity will thus modernise the relationship with its members and users, with a digital identity in Blockchain for all the club’s services. The security and privacy of the data will be used to offer its own services and those of third parties, and takes an exponential leap forward thanks to Definitive ID ®, a technology developed by Wise Security Global.  

“We can now offer integration with third parties to benefit our partners and users, without having to hand over their personal data,” said Rafael Contreras, Vice President of Cádiz CF. For his part, the Communication Director of Cádiz CF, José Grima, was in charge of collecting the Computing award yesterday, presented by Gorka Jiménez, Business Development Director of Wise Security Global. Gorka Jiménez expressed the pride felt by the technology company in ratifying how the sports sector is taking a step forward in identity and cybersecurity.  

“With this system, the club will offer greater security and data control for the users themselves and will improve the digital interactions and services offered to its members and fans without the risk of breaching the RGPD and with the assurance that there will be no identity theft or impersonation”, says Gorka Jiménez.  

The VIII edition of the now traditional and renowned Digital Era Awards, organised annually by Computing magazine, was held last night at Uzalacain La Finca (Pozuelo de Alarcón). It brought together more than 400 professionals from the sector and recognised the most innovative projects that have taken place over the last year. This meeting allows all types of public and private organisations to apply business transformation models and prepare for this new changing scenario full of uncertainties.  

Granollers City Council, Instituto de Empresa, Repsol, Iberia, Cellnex, Eroski, Vento Abogados y Asesores, Enaire, Mapfre, Gestamp, Renault Bank, Enagás, Acciona, Cádiz Football Club, Tarragona City Council, Securitas Direct, D3 Applied Technologies, Lanbide and Ilunion were the award-winning projects in this latest edition.
